Tips for Securing an Amazon 1P Vendor Invitation

When I managed a category of 3,000+ vendors on Amazon, we couldn’t get most 3P sellers to make the switch. They had it too good on Seller Central and didn’t want to give up brand and pricing control.

However, the game has changed. Now, more 3P sellers are interested in becoming 1P vendors than ever before.

Are You Eligible?

If you meet a combination of the following qualifications, you might be eligible for a Vendor Central (VC) account invitation:

  • Strong Sales Performance: Proven track record with impressive sales velocity.
  • Brand Recognition: Exceptional brand value or unique products.
  • Operational Excellence: Reliable logistics, supply chain, and inventory management.
  • High-Quality Listings: Optimized product detail pages and compelling content.
  • Compliance and Customer Experience: High ratings and adherence to Amazon’s terms.

You’ll need the right partner or strategy to help you make your case to Amazon for an invite.

Consider Before You Switch

If you don’t meet any of these criteria, purchasing a Vendor Central account is possible through certain agencies or brokers. However, this comes with significant risks—you may be delisted if your business goals and operations don’t align with Amazon’s expectations.

Remember, a VC invite is never guaranteed, but it can be possible with the right strategy and approach.
